About Us
Our Family, Our Land, Our Craft.
Our Story and Philosophy
We’re a family-owned business in Rixeyville, Virginia, with a love for wood and the stories it holds. A tree’s life leaves traces in its grain, knots, and unexpected patterns. Discovering those details—and imagining what they might become—is where our work begins.
Most of the wood we use comes from trees grown on our land. Cedar, oak, pine, and tulip poplar are the most abundant, alongside cherry, maple, and walnut. We saw the logs on our own sawmill, where the first cut reveals the character within and helps guide what we make.
Some pieces become live-edge benches, mantels, or tables. Others inspire bowls, trays, toys, and small treasures for the home. A knot, an unusual marking, or the trace of an insect’s path can become the very detail that makes a piece special.
From sawing and drying to shaping, sanding, and finishing, we find pleasure in the making itself. We create pieces to be used and enjoyed—and sometimes, simply to let the beauty of the wood speak for itself.
